(I don't know what I'm doing, but I guess I made a song. Yay!
Well, I guess there's no better time for me to introduce myself, right?
Alright. Let's go!)
My name is Cedar and I'm a nature sprite.
Or mischievous nature entity?
(I don't know what y'all call me anymore... um... embodiment?)
Just so ya know I like to change it up a lot
That's a part of nature's identity
(Or maybe like "earth spirit"? I think I've heard that before.)
Been part of the forest, part of the desert, part of the river, and even of the mountain top
Cause I'll take the form of anything up to the trees down to the season's crop
I've lived a real long time ya know, so
I've watched the humans grow
I've also watched them throw
Nature into dIsArRaY
though they're a part of it
So inconsiderate
Human beings are a comedy
except they sure cause much tragedy
Watching that's kinda hard for me
But we can all live in harmony!~ <3
Just kidding
Humans await your demise
From its slumber nature will rise
Too long have you had your way
(Hm, then again, humans ARE kinda fun.
Eh. I guess I'll deal with it for now.
Peace!)

Distant Kin
02:40
|
|||
Long ago, long ago
As one we were
Hand in hand
Feed together
Breathe together
Feel together eternal wish
Grow beside
Grow beyond
Left behind
A wall of fear
Stone by stone the distance increases
Building a world around
Without the kin
Reject the kin
Yet use the kin
To hide
Ohhh
The rupturing
Without repair
A slight though thought now out of sight
Yet hidden eyes see all
Let there be a twine
Meant to unite us once more
Until that day
So far away
Our hearts will be
from healing whole
Long ago, long ago
All were one
For now we wait

I'm Not Cute
03:48
|
|||
“Oh no way,” they all say
Not many give me the time of day
What a world this has turned out to be…
I'm not cute, I'm not cool
I'm not pretty, and I'm not handsome...
But that's okay I'll keep going for my dreams!
When I was just a sapling
I saw all that was happening
People would fall in love
For money, looks, and other fluff
Like puppies in a box
they'd pick the nicest flock
And guess who'd be left over
That's me the unwanted Rover
I felt a little lost because the world's whole cause seemed to be
to find someone to love.
They said "it's nature"
WELL, guess what: I'm nature
Who creates the rules? Make some I can corroborate
I said don't worry 'bout it
It's really not important
High time I found
another quest to take on my own
Something that gives me purpose
and brings me more happiness
I won't be playing by the rules
everyone else sets
I'm just doing my own thing
It's satisfactory to me
A pace of my liking
to enjoy in solitary
If you find this appealing then
This life's open to you too
So what? You are alone now?
Set a goal and go go go!
I'm not cute
I'm not cool
I'm not pretty and I'm not handsome...
But that's okay I'll keep going for my dreams!
It's okay
Go or stay
I'm gonna still do it all my way
So either or I'll keep going for my dreams!
But hey don't get me wrong now
One day I might take a vow
The only difference is
it's not something that I chase.
That life's just not my focus
So many other problems
that I have I prioritize to face
You think I'm bitter?
Oh, you think I'm bitter?
I'm just a little bitter
but I don't dwell on that
My dreams are better
YOU SAY I should try harder
Well I've just got to say
I'm not cute
I'm not cool
I'm not pretty and I'm not handsome...
But that's okay I'll keep going for my dreams!
It's okay
Go or stay
I still choose to love me anyway
I'll still give it my best
Though I might throw in a jest
So that's okay I'll keep going for my dreams!

Stone of Life
03:54
|
|||
Once nestled within the woods
Laid a stone
One said to grant humans life eternal
Yet I'd watch them come and go
Typically, instead the stone would petrify those who held it
Why do they try to escape their end?
An inevitability they cannot mend
For a grueling journey that's bound to fail
I can't imagine it'd be worth it all
Then one day a traveler came
Like the rest
He grabbed the stone, all white it shone
Soon the traveler crumbled slow
From afar, I asked
Aren't you afraid now, but he said calmly
It's not the end that I did fear
Nor death that threatened to grow near
Weakly he
Beckoned me
Come hither
And he whispered
I know that we can't escape our fate
I wandered for so long not to extend my date
Perhaps you won't understand human trials
Just the journey was my aim all along
(And that was just wild to me that he came for the journey and not the stone itself…)

Four Fair Maidens
01:27
|
|||
How many fair maidens are sitting under this oak tree?
How many fair maidens are sitting under this oak tree?
There are four
There are four
There are four
There are four
There are four fair maidens sitting under this oak tree
How many fair maidens are sitting under this oak tree?
How many fair maidens are sitting under this oak tree?
There are three
There are three
There are three
There are three
There are three fair maidens sitting under this oak tree
How many fair maidens are sitting under this oak tree?
How many fair maidens are sitting under this oak tree?
There are two
There are two
There are two
There are two
There are two fair maidens sitting under this oak tree
How many fair maidens are sitting under this oak tree?
How many fair maidens are sitting under this oak tree?
There are none
The last one has
Run away
With the gun
There are no fair maidens sitting under this oak tree

Breach
03:10
|
|||
Are you ready for a breach?
AaaaaAAAAAAaaaaaAAAAAaaaaaAAAAAAaaaaahh…
AAAAAaaaaaaAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAaaaaahh.
Come along my leafy kin
Today’s the day we’re breaking in
Past the walls our dear cousins put up
(Past the walls, yeah!)
Thought that they could shut us out
While tossing us all about
Using us only for their own gain
(That's not cool!)
How silly of them they forgot we’re sharing a space
We’ve only been silent since we have a bit of grace
But now we’ve grown tired, it’s time to make a move
So take notice as we breach!
Since you don’t know how to act
We’ll teach you a little tact
Here we come up from the cracks
Now you know that nature’s back (Breach!)
To be clear here, it’s not like we ever left at all
For many years we stood here gawking since you had the gall (Sure did!)
To take over and wash over the pretty place we had
And all the while you never thought that we’d ever get mad
Well here is a question for you, little human being
When you see the world is it the same image we’re seeing?
Don’t you worry about cleaning up what you have done.
When you’re gone that’s just our cue to re-begin the fun without you!
(Byeee!) (See ya!)
Since you don’t know how to act
We’ll teach you a little tact
Here we come up from the cracks
Now you know that nature’s back (Ha!)
(Yeah they just like messed up everything--)
(Yeah!)
(Now they're trying to find "salvation in the forest"!)
(YOU WON'T FIND IT HERE!)
(YEAH!)
(They're coming over here trying to find a new life and stuff.)
(Ahhh, they'll get what's coming to them.)
(Yeah.)
You can’t wait until we’re gone
Like always we’re pushing on
If you think we’ll quit you’re wrong
Like a tree’s trunk we’ll stay strong

Be careful what you eat in the forest
Not every meal is meant for you
If you take a wrong bite in the forest
It might be the last thing you do
Morels and chanterelles
Black trumpets and fairy bells
Wood sorrel, hemlock seeds
Foxglove and nettle leaves
Holly and brugmansia
Buckeye and wisteria
Which of these sweet little beasts might cause your final feast?
Be careful what you eat in the forest
Not every meal is meant for you
If you take a wrong bite in the forest
It might be the last thing you do
Be careful what you eat in the forest
So many things they can harm you
Not all is edible in the forest
A few things might change your skin's hue
Dogwood berries and hogweed
Castor beans and ivy green
Amanita phalloides
Marasmius rotula yet maple trees
Be careful what you eat in the forest
Not every meal is meant for you
If you take a wrong bite in the forest
It might be the last thing you do
Be careful what you eat in the forest
Not every meal is meant for you
If you take a wrong bite in the forest
It might be the last thing you chew
Be careful what you eat in the forest
Many by mushrooms have been slew
But if you do fall ill in the forest
Well maybe I might help you!

Rooted
02:17
|
|||
Yearning to be within the sky
Coveting wings so that I can fly
The airy grasp allures my soul
It’s teeming with ardor
Outstretch my reach, grab emptiness
Fruitless is my attempt at soaring high
My heart it aches of hopeless dreams
Eternal I’m rooted
Wingless/Graceless here I go crashing crashing
Face onto the floor mashing mashing
Here I wish for
Unobtainable flight
Right
Or that's what I say
A new excuse to hide the shame
All in good fun
That same old worn out game
Laugh now, yell later coast is clear
Don't let them catch on now
Working for wings in shadowed view
Spouting falsehoods that "only hurt you"
Realize, retract, but don't take jack
Rooted even further
Now
Scathing truth
Now
I could break loose
What's
The problem?
Have I even gathered feathers for this
This pair of wings that have no base
Commit or this will only be a waste
Hide behind chuckles if I dare
A shielding of humor
Yearning to be within the sky
Coveting wings so that I can fly
Was all the vigor just a lie
Forever rooted unless I try

Cedar’s Nightmare
02:20
|
|||
I can see corrosion of the world around me
Spiraling to ash ruins of humanity
Greenery in decay every plant is thirsty
But the rivers are dried up the oceans empty
A thick layer of smog blocks a sun now humbled
Watching every avian in flight take tumble
See the whole world fall, how could you let us crumble?
And some time does pass and from the grounds we then begin to sprout once more
The trees start growing
The rivers flowing all across the land
After rain will come the gain
Let us prosper
Our resilience paid off
Without you we can start again/And now we can grow once again
Birds are singing
Newborn life resumes their quiddities
Normalcy returns, may the past be our conversation piece for days
But yes I know that all I sing
Is only but a dream
Bring the nightmare so my dream can come to me again

If I sang in Japanese
I feel like it would just be awful
of me so that's why I sing in English
It's not like I think that one language is better than the other
And hey big surprise: I have a Japanese BA
That's from years of forest living wanting knowledge to uncover
So with someone's ID, to college I went away
But woe
Woe is me
I can't speak fluently
Grammar and vocab's wrong
But maybe I can try it in this song!
Oira no Nihongo ha totemo warui yo
Demo oira ha ganbarimasu.
Iie. Hidoi.
Oira ha kono kotoba wo dainaishi ni shimasu yo.
Hai hai. Eigo de utaimasu.
If I sang in Japanese
I feel like it would just be awful
of me so that's why I sing in English
It's all better this way
Now I can't get cancelled for it
So that's okay
I'll keep singing in English
But hey
So ya know
I took four years of French also
Yet grammar and vocab's wrong
How did I get by with English this long?
If I sang in Japanese or French
I feel like it'd be awful
of me so I think I'll stick to English
(Yeah, no. Not even gonna try to butcher French here. Not today.)
I swear it's out of respect
You heard how bad I sounded
So I'll respectfully sing only in English
(I mean, not that English is my native language either, but for now...)
English
(I mean look... you heard! I tried... so)
English (x3)

I Knew a Person
03:37
|
|||
I knew a person who liked the color red
Didn't know why they liked the color red
And then they showed me the color of apples
And then I knew why they liked the color red
I knew a person who really liked purple
Didn't know why they really liked purple
And then they showed me a field of lavender
And then I knew why
They really liked purple
I knew a person who liked the color brown
Didn't know why they liked the color brown
And then they showed me the trunks of the trees
And then I knew why they liked the color brown
I knew a person who really liked the trees
I didn't know why they really liked the trees
And then they showed me trees swaying in the breeze
And then I knew why they really liked the trees
I knew a person who put pineapples on pizza
Didn't know why they put pineapples on pizza
They threw a party where that was all they served
And so the whole time I didn't eat a thing
I knew a person who liked the color orange
Didn't know why they liked the color orange
And then they showed me the orange evening sky
And then I knew why they liked the color orange
I knew a person who liked the color green
Didn't know why they liked the color green
And then they showed me the nature in between
And then I knew why they liked the color green

The Stars Will Guide You
04:29
|
|||
Night falls and you're lost in the vines and wish to return home
Know, that you're not alone there in the darkness
Look above you see your companions were always up there
Always twinkling bright for you
Be strong. The stars will guide you on your way...
Be strong
The stars will guide you on your way
And then you can look back on this day as a past delay
Hold on
For now you might be in dismay
But the stars can show you the path to melt your troubles away
So look up
Aimlessly wandering through shrubs through greenery high a human walked up slope
Shaky legs and thorn mangled hands they traversed the shadows within the woodlands
Gone astray and so far away from home they crumpled to the dirt with a sigh
Wailing with their head tilted back they began to accept that there they might die
And then, they looked up to the sky for the first time
Realized they could follow the stars and resumed their climb
Be strong
The stars will guide you on your way
And then you can look back on this day as a past delay
Hold on
For now you might be in dismay
But the stars can show you the path to melt your troubles away
So look up
In the lake a human's heart quaked as their limbs outstretched as they drifted below
Reaching reaching– but with their eyes shut
A chaotic flail, but to no avail
If they did shed tears
Those did not appear
Surrounded, submerged in the waters
And without a light
They thought not to fight
As their strength did falter
But then, they saw the stars above through the surface
Floated to the top and took a saving breath
Be strong
The stars will guide you on your way
And then you can look back on this day as a past delay
Hold on
For now you might be in dismay
But the stars can show you the path to melt your troubles away
So look up
